This hostel building was once a printing factory in the 1970s. We spent 7 months on a project to change this place into a super-cool hostel.
The team is comprises of 3 people. A Danish guy (Lars) who is in charge of the restaurant and Cafe, Er Zi who did the poster and the graphic design and me (Billy) who did the architecture design. We used brick, wood, concrete, steel products, flowers and trees to build this hostel in downtown of Chengdu. Every 2 months there will be a oil painting exhibition held in the top loft.
The loft hostel could be in one of the best locations in Chengdu. You can walk to the central park in 6 minutes and see people practising Tai Chi in the morning.
It’s easy to get around and is quiet in and around the building. There is a feeling of ease all the time, there is good food and coffee, we have clean toilets and towels, 24 hours hot water, skylight rooms and cool music.
