Hobro is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in North Jutland County on the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 166 km², and has a total population of 15,318 (2005). Its mayor is Jørgen Pontoppidan, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. Neighboring municipalities are Mariager to the east, Arden to the northeast, Nørager to the northwest, Aalestrup and Møldrup to the west, and Tjele and Purhus to the south.
