This is a small friendly,'green'hostel located within Dartmoor National Park in the village of Moretonhampstead, 14 miles west of Exeter.Visitors are accommodated in a beautifully converted stone stable, with fully equipped kitchen for vegetarian cooking,great solar heated showers,and a sunny courtyard.
High open moorland and sheltered wooded valleys are close by,ideal for
cycling, hiking, climbing, canoeing and trekking. (Wide entrance for canoes and
bikes). Magnificent Tours, stone circles and burial sites of ancient civilizations together with wild
ponies, buzzards, flora and fauna, are all here to be explored within the 400sq.miles of Dartmoor.
Moretonhampstead village has a few
shops, cafes, pubs,and in summer an outdoor solar heated swimming pool.We are easily accessible by public transport, and on two cycle routes-Dartmoor Way, CTC End2End.There are also many footpaths leading to Moretonhampstead.
