The youth hostel is located.on a hill on the eastern edge of town. Blaubeuren is situated on the Oberschwäbische Barockstraße and is a recognised health resort.
The Blaubeuren Mountains and the Hochsträß hill range surround the valley through which the Rivers Aach and Blau flow. Sights to be seen are the legendary Blautopf (freshwater lagoon), the historic forgery and the monastery.
