The area of Reykjanes has many recreational options for people of all ages.
Hiking around the area is a good way to enjoy the nature as well as finding more about Icelandic culture on many historical sites.
Here in Reykanes we have two outdoor swimming pools with warm water, the famous Blue Lagoon, exellent area at Garšskagi for birdwathing, hot springs, bridge across continents, two companies that offer whale wathing and sea angling. Golf course, gokart and museums.
Iceland is forming on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (since volcanoes in Iceland are still active). Landscape in the area of Reykjanes is distinguishable by volcanic activity in the forms of mountains maid of palagonite that were formed under ice or water and many layers of lava.
