Fort Cochin is a small town in the southern part of India. For centuries, it remained the focal point to many a European traveller, who eventually made it home. And in years to follow, it gradually acquired an eclectic mix of varied cultures that blend to form a unique existence for itself.
Today, much of the place continues to exude this charm. Its tiny allies, European styled villas, quaint cafes and extensive grounds, all of which merge to create a beautiful location.
On one of its streets, dotted with numerous ancient buildings, rests our homestead Rain tree. A tribute to the large trees that shade the vicinity, the lodge is an 18th century Dutch Home renovated to cater to the discerning visitor.
Every aspect of it preserves the antiquity and ambience it once housed. And is an ideal place to begin the discovery of this heritage town.
Rooms furnished with traditional tile flooring, custom made beds, wardrobes, attached bathrooms and private balconies. Other facilities include a lounge room and an open terrace garden overlooking the ancient sites of the town.
