» Description Sierra Llorona Panama Lodge is a family-operated lodge located on a private reserve of 200 hectares of rainforest on the Caribbean slope of the Panama Canal Area. We have eight complete rooms for a maximum of 4 persons each, with private bathrooms with hot water, ceiling fan and cross ventilation and panoramic views.

There is also a Ballroom for conferences and meetings, a music and television area, Rancho-Bar and Swimming pool, Tennis Court, and Two Trails of moderate and high intensity difficulties trough the humid rain forest of Sierra Llorona Reserve.

Services include complete private overnight accommodations, Panamanian cuisine served buffet style, laundry, land transportation from/to Panama City and Colón, and bird watching, historical and cultural tours with English-speaking specialized guides.

The lodge is near world-famous birwatching destinations in the Caribbean side of the Panama Canal Area, including Achiote Road, Escobal Road, Tiger Trail, the mangroves of Galeta Point, Gatún Locks and Lake, Margarita and Coco Solo. All of these spots are within the Atlantic Christmas Count Circle, held each December by the Panama Audubon Society. Other places like Pipeline Road and Plantation Road are an hour away from the lodge.

It's a great place for birdwatchers, but also to anyone interested in tropical nature. The birds are numerous and easy to see even in the gardens surrounding the lodge, but the best bird watching is on the two trails that go into the forest: La Poza and El Colibrí.

A series of observation platforms surround the Lodge and these are prime locations to observe birds on the canopy of the forest, wait for the humming birds to come to the feeders or just lay back, relax and enjoy the view.

If you're new to birdwatching, Sierra Llorona Panama Lodge is a great place to start learning the birds of the Caribbean slope of Central Panama, but there's plenty of rarities to keep the experts busy for a while too. And we're very close to the best birding spots in the area, enough to keep you entertained after you're done exploring our grounds.
