The Edinburgh Backpackers Hostel has it all. Location, friendly staff, comfortable beds, affordable prices, an international and lively atmosphere and did we mention a superb location. Situated in a 18th century building in the heart of the historic Old Town on Edinburgh’s funkiest Street, our hostel is located 50 metres from the Royal Mile and less than 2 minute’s walk from the Train station and airport shuttle bus. This means we’re perfectly positioned in the middle of Edinburgh’s many attractions and wild nightlife.
We have bright, clean and spacious dorm rooms and a few private rooms, which are located in our main building, and some have magnificent views down Cockburn Street or over the Edinburgh skyline. We also have a large number of other private rooms housed in self-catering apartments in two separate buildings on the same street. These tend to be a bit quieter and are quite popular with couples or small groups
The Hostel has a 24-hour reception and there is no curfew so you are free to explore the city until all hours in the morning. We also have a large self-catering kitchen, pool room, chill out room with Sky TV. If you don’t feel like cooking there is café/bar attached to the Hostel called the Southern Cross Café. Come here for a relaxing drink, or to do some emailing on the Internet. We have an extensive menu and a wide range of drinks to offer. All Hostel guests also receive a 15% discount off their food bill.
