Welcome to the Cat and Moose Backpackers’ Lodge, Cape Town, South Africa - where you arrive as a guest - and leave as a friend!
Established in 1995 we are housed in a historical building circa 1792, one of the original Central Cape Town dwellings. Our old-charm character buildings against the backdrop of the majestic Table Mountain enclose a leafy, sunny and private courtyard with splash-pool.
Nested on the upper end of Long Street we are conveniently situated between the Harbour and Table Mountain. The Cat & Moose is within walking distance from the Train Station and Central Bus Terminus. We neighbour the famous Turkish Baths and early 20th century historical indoor Swimming Pool.
Historical Dutch Company Gardens, South African Museum, Planetarium, National Gallery and Holocaust Museum are a block away. 24-hour Convenience Shop, supermarkets, bars, a variety of restaurants and shopping malls are within five minutes walk from the Cat & Moose. This is a safe area within City Improvement District. We also provide overnight Security Guard.
We are open 24/7/365. Reception is open 7am-10pm where you can also obtain travel information, tour bookings, safety box and a laundry service. We offer keyless entry with security access code. Facilities include a large TV lounge, pool table, bar and large balcony overlooking Long Street with a vibrant nightlife and trendy restaurants, bars and lounges. Furthermore Travel Agencies and bicycle & surfboard hire outlets are situated right next to the Cat & Moose.
