The Wind Dancer Hostel is located behind the original Post Office in Datil, New Mexico. We are situated in the remote Datil Mountains, bordering the Gila Wilderness in the central western part of the state.
The hostel is a completely renovated 600 sq ft. dwelling. It has a small kitchen and outdoor grilling area. Gallup, the "Indian Capital of the World" is three hours away. "Acoma Pueblo", the oldest occupied dwelling in North America, about 3 1/2 hours North.
The VLA (Very Large Array) is located 10 miles east and is of great interest to many a soul and is very surreal on the plains of San Augustine. For climbers, Enchanted Rock lies a few miles to the west.
Close to the hostel there is a restaurant (American), Gas Station and small store about a block away.
