Croeso (welcome) to Corris Hostel--an award winning "green" independent hostel with an environmental and Celtic theme, focussing on conservation through education and by example.
The 42 bed hostel (Welsh Tourist Board 3 star graded) is within an old school of character and charm, overlooking the mountain craft village of Corris. Step back in time and experience a true "Welsh" welcome. Come and feel at home in a caring and holistic atmosphere.
We are situated within the Dyfi Eco Valley in a land of ancient energies and sites, Druids and myths. This land has a biosphere of nature reserves, sandy beaches, rolling hills with cascading waterfalls, and the lofty mountain of Cadair Idris. It is also a mecca for cyclists, with off-road routes and Sustrans National Route 8. We are located near the ancient market town of Machynlleth, the 'alternative' capital of Wales.
Home of the last Welsh Parliament (1404) and its prince the legendary Owain Glyndwr. The town is now becoming a national centre for ECO-tourism and lifestyle. Three miles up the valley is the world renowned Centre for Alternative Technology, with practical solutions for a world of green living.
At Corris itself, there is King Arthur's Labyrinth, with its spectacular underground settings, the adjacent craft centre, and narrow gauge railway. With so much diversity and variety offered within one area, let us rejuvenate you with a memorable experience!
