Long Story Short occupies a 19th-century brick building on Kozeluzhska, 10 minutes on foot from Horni namesti. The owners restored it with restraint: exposed brick walls, polished concrete floors, mid-century furniture, and a working summer garden out back where locals come for breakfast and the place runs live music nights every other weekend. The downstairs cafe is open to non-guests, and the sourdough bread with smazak (fried cheese sandwich) is enough of a thing in Olomouc that students from Palacky University walk over for it.
Rooms range from 4-bed and 6-bed mixed dorms with curtained bunks and individual reading lights to private doubles with their own bathrooms. Even the dorms feel like considered spaces, not warehouses: solid wood, blackout curtains, USB sockets next to every bed. Free breakfast is included in some rates and absolutely worth booking; the breakfast itself is what most reviewers can't stop writing about.
The garden is the social hub. Picnic tables, BBQ on warm evenings, sun deck, occasional bands. Tour desk at reception runs the free walking tour pickup at 11am. Train station is 12 minutes by tram (stops 2/4/6 at Namesti Hrdinu, two minutes' walk away).
