§ 01 — Summary

Stylish hostel in a restored 19th-century building in Vinohrady, Prague's hippest neighborhood. Brick cellar bar, stand-up comedy nights, happy hours, and a shared kitchen. A 15-minute walk or quick metro ride from the center.

§ 02 — The full story

Czech Inn occupies a gorgeous 19th-century building on Francouzská street in Vinohrady — the neighborhood locals call the Brooklyn of Prague. This is where expats brunch, where craft beer bars outnumber tourist traps, and where Riegrovy Sady beer garden offers the best sunset view of Prague Castle. You're slightly outside the tourist zone, which is exactly the point.

The cellar bar is the hostel's centerpiece. Brick arches, dim lighting, and a lineup of events that includes stand-up comedy, live music, bar crawls, and happy hours. It's atmospheric enough that non-guests would pay to drink there, but it's your living room for the duration of your stay.

Rooms range from budget dorms to surprisingly nice private rooms with ensuite bathrooms. The shared kitchen is well-maintained, and the on-site cafe serves good coffee and breakfast. The front desk is staffed 24/7 and the team runs walking tours, bike tours, and evening activities.

Getting to the center is easy: Náměstí Míru metro (line A) is a 7-minute walk, or you can walk to Old Town in about 20 minutes through some of Prague's prettiest residential streets. The trade-off for being slightly further out is a neighborhood that feels genuinely Czech, not like a theme park.

Amazing place with great energy. The cellar bar is atmospheric and the staff are genuinely friendly. Vinohrady is the best neighborhood to stay in Prague — way better than the tourist center.

Very pleasant place with great energy, both the staff and the guests. The beds are comfortable, the showers are hot, and the cellar bar is a perfect hangout spot. Would definitely return.

Very nice hostel! I was in a dormitory and the room, the shower, the toilet were very clean. As a woman traveling solo, I felt safe and welcomed. The bar downstairs is excellent.
