§ 01 — Summary

Lobby Collective is Lecce's biggest and most modern hostel — a converted villa with a sun terrace, picnic garden, outdoor fireplace, full shared kitchen, and a calendar of cooking classes, bar crawls, movie nights, and themed dinners. 8.7 rating, dorms from €28, private rooms from €60. Run as a coworking-meets-backpacker hub for the digital nomad crowd flooding Puglia in shoulder season.

§ 02 — The full story

Lobby Collective sits on Via Bertolli n. 2, ~15 minutes' walk south of the centro storico across the Lecce train tracks. The location matters: you're a 5-minute walk from Lecce station (so day trips to Otranto and Gallipoli on the local FSE line start from your front door), a bus stop and supermarket are right opposite the building, and the airport shuttle to Brindisi (BDS) drops and picks up at the hostel.

The building is a converted villa with serious garden footprint — sun terrace, hammocks, outdoor fireplace, picnic area, terrace seating. This is the rare Lecce hostel where the social life happens on-site rather than only in the piazza. The full shared kitchen has a coffee machine, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, kitchenware and dining table — guests actually cook dinner together rather than the symbolic kitchen-corner you find at smaller hostels.

Rooms split between dorms (4-8 beds, mixed and female) with curtained bunks and lockers, and private rooms (twin, double, family) with private bathrooms, A/C, work desks, wardrobes and TVs. Bunk beds are honest about their flaw — they shake when one person moves, so light sleepers should book a private if the budget allows.

What sets it apart is the activity calendar: cooking classes, walking tours, bike tours, bar crawls, themed dinners, movie nights, happy hour, plus a tour desk for booking Salento day trips. The coworking corner is real (work desks, fast Wi-Fi, quiet hours respected) and the breakfast — included with most rates — is genuinely above the price-band average.

Who it's for: digital nomads working from Lecce for a week, longer-stay couples who want modern privates with garden access, solo travelers who arrive solo and leave with a new friend group from the bar crawl. Who it's not for: people who want to wake up surrounded by baroque (you'll walk 15 min to the centro storico every day) or anyone allergic to organized hostel activities.

A big nice building surrounded by garden, corners to sit and relax, hammocks. Everything you need is there, with some funny modern touches. Spacious clean rooms, attentive staff, and the cooking class with the in-house grandma was the highlight of the week. Already booked a return.

Overall good value. We got a private room with private bath, bed was comfy. Lovely breakfast and used the kitchen to prepare our dinner. Bus stop right in front for getting into the centre, supermarket across the road. Nothing to complain about.

Everything was fine — great location for the train, friendly reception, and the breakfast spread is generous. The dorm bed wasn't the kindest on my back — bunk shakes when bunkmates move. Would book a private next time.
