Hostel Turin Metro Young
The west-side metro hostel built for solo budget travelers — terrace, family rooms, soundproofed dorms, four metro stops to the centre.
Hostel Turin Metro Young sits in the Pozzo Strada neighborhood near Metro Line 1's Pozzo Strada station, a 12-minute metro ride to Porta Nuova and the Egyptian Museum. Family-friendly setup with private bathrooms, a shared kitchen, garden views, soundproofed rooms, and a terrace — the suburban-but-affordable choice in Turin.
Hostel Turin Metro Young is a 60-bed hostel on Via Brione in Pozzo Strada, the residential west-side neighborhood that runs along Metro Line 1. The building is purpose-built (not a converted historic palazzo — closer to a modern apartment block) which trades the atmosphere of Centro Storico hostels for genuinely soundproofed rooms, a working elevator, AC, and tiled floors that wipe down easily.
The room mix is unusual for a Turin hostel: 4-bed and 6-bed dorms with private en-suite bathrooms, plus family rooms that fit four people with their own bathroom, kitchenette, microwave, and small fridge. There's a shared kitchen for everyone, a lounge, an outdoor seating area, and a terrace where summer breakfast happens. Streaming services (Netflix and the like) are pre-installed on the room TVs.
The location is the trade-off. You're 12 minutes from Porta Nuova by Metro Line 1 (5 stops, one transfer-free ride), so the centre is not far in time but it is far in feel. The neighborhood is lower-stakes — Pozzo Strada has a Carrefour, two pharmacies, a couple of trattorias, and an Esselunga supermarket — none of the Saturday-night chaos of San Salvario. If you're traveling solo and looking for the all-night party crowd, this is the wrong hostel; if you're traveling on a tight budget, with family, or needing actual sleep, this is the right one.
Caselle airport bus drops at Pozzo Strada metro station, so airport-to-hostel is one bus ride plus a 6-minute walk. The hostel sells tickets at reception. For trips into town, get the Torino+Piemonte Card or the GTT 5-day pass to make the metro economical.
