St Christopher's Inn - The Winston

The Winston sits on Warmoesstraat, which is arguably the most intense street in Amsterdam. The Red Light District starts outside your door, Dam Square is a 3-minute walk, and Centraal Station is 5 minutes north. This is maximum Amsterdam, for better and worse.

Belushi's bar occupies the ground floor and it's a proper venue: live bands, DJs, comedy nights, beer pong tournaments, and happy hour that makes pre-drinking unnecessary. The bar pulls in locals and tourists alike, which gives it more energy than a typical hostel bar. It's loud, it's sticky-floored, and it doesn't apologize for any of it.

The rooms are the standout surprise. Each floor was designed by a different Amsterdam artist, so you get murals, installations, and design details that make this look nothing like a chain hostel. Some rooms have their own rooftop terrace access, which is genuinely rare in Amsterdam's city center. Beds are made for you (unusual for a hostel), and the bunks have privacy curtains.

The Winston is a party hostel. If you want silence, this is the wrong building on the wrong street. But if you want to be in the thick of Amsterdam nightlife with a bar that runs until late and a rooftop that catches sunrise, there's nothing else like it in the city center.
