Urban Hostel & Apartments is the highest-rated hostel in central Skopje (9.3 across 105 reviews) and the only one in our selection that crosses the line into apartment territory. The building has the classic Skopje hostel layout on the lower floors — reception, lounge, kitchen, two dorms — and three self-catering apartments on the upper floors with their own kitchens, bathrooms, and balconies.

Location puts you four minutes south of Macedonia Square on a quiet residential street; the bar-crawl street is two minutes away, the Stone Bridge is six, the bus station is twelve. The building was renovated in 2022 — fittings are modern, AC works properly, the WiFi reaches everywhere, the bathrooms are tiled and well-kept.

Dorms are 4 and 6 beds with full bunk curtains, blackout curtains, USB sockets, and big lockers. The shared kitchen on the dorm floor has gas stove, full pots, and two fridges. The small back terrace works as the social spot in summer — string lights, a bench seat, and a wooden table that fits eight.

Apartments above are studio-sized (around 25 sqm each), with kitchenettes, full bathrooms, and balconies. They cost about 50 EUR a night for two and are the right call when you want hostel-friendly check-in and the local desk's tour bookings while sleeping in a real bed in a real apartment.
