Centrum House Hostel occupies the second floor of an 18th-century townhouse on Strada Republicii 58, the pedestrianised Old Town artery that runs from Piața Sfatului to Bulevardul Eroilor. From the entrance you step straight onto Republicii's café terraces — Old Centrum café is six paces left, Tipografia bar is across the cobbles.
The hostel sleeps roughly 30 across 4-, 6- and 8-bed mixed dorms plus a couple of female-only rooms. Bunks are wood-frame with reading lights, lockers and curtains. There are two shared bathrooms, a small guest kitchen with a stove, fridge and a wall of leftover guest spices, and a foyer-meets-lounge where the manager keeps Brașov maps marked up with his own walking-tour shortcuts.
The location does the heavy lifting. Piața Sfatului and the Black Church are 2 minutes door-to-door. The Tâmpa cable car base station — where you catch the cabin up to the giant 'BRAȘOV' sign for sunset — is 4 minutes south. Catherine's Gate and the Schei quarter are 8 minutes. The free walking tour assembles in the square right outside; you'll roll out at 10:00 with the rest of the Old Town hostels.
