Plaza Catedral Hostel
Right next to the Cathedral: 8.9 from 720 reviews, the most central hostel address in Pamplona, with cathedral-view family rooms and full disability access.
Plaza Catedral Hostel sits at Calle Navarrería 35, the medieval lane that wraps around the Cathedral — you wake up two metres from the buttresses. 8.9 from 720+ reviews, with cathedral-view family rooms, a shared kitchen, and the only fully wheelchair-accessible hostel in Pamplona's old town.
Plaza Catedral Hostel occupies a renovated stone building on Calle Navarrería, the cobbled street that wraps around the Cathedral's eastern flank. The address is the most central hostel position in Pamplona — the Cathedral cloister is a 30-second walk, Plaza del Castillo is two minutes, and Calle Estafeta is one minute.
The building has been rebuilt to handle wheelchairs (full disability access on the ground floor and the elevator), making it the only old-town hostel in Pamplona that takes the question seriously rather than apologising. Family rooms (4-bed and 5-bed) are unusual for a Pamplona hostel and a real differentiator — most of the city's hostels are dorms-only or adults-only.
Dorms are mixed 4/6/8-bed, all with shared bathrooms on the floor (no en-suite dorms), individual reading lights, lockers, and curtains. Some rooms have direct cathedral views — the 6-bed dorm 'San Fermín' faces the Cathedral cloister and is the most-requested. Others face Calle Navarrería itself, which means you'll hear the morning bells (07:00 weekdays, 09:00 Sundays) but won't sleep through the bull-run if you're stupid enough to be there in July.
Kitchen is shared with full kitchenware. The hostel doesn't include linen or towels in the dorm rate (linen €3, towels €2) — Pamplona's pilgrim-hostel tradition. Reception runs a tour desk for Olite, San Sebastián, and Cathedral cloister tours, plus they'll stamp Camino credenciales.
The right call if you want the most central possible address, family rooms, or wheelchair access. Casa Ibarrola is higher-rated but adults-only and with no family rooms; Aloha has the terrace; Iruñako is cheaper. Plaza Catedral is the family-friendly central pick.
