The hostel building is a converted family home with a small garden, terrace, lounge, and the most unusual feature in the Zurich budget scene: a properly-equipped shared kitchen.

This is the headline reason to book Viktoria. Stovetop with proper burners, dishwasher (yes, in a hostel kitchen), microwave, refrigerator, kitchenette setup with kitchenware, dining table, kettle, and a designated dining area. In a city where a sit-down meal starts at CHF 25, the kitchen is a genuine money-saver — Migros' to-go pasta is CHF 5, raw ingredients let you cook a 4-person dinner for CHF 20 total, and Viktoria has the dishwasher to handle the cleanup.

The hostel is adults-only. No school groups, no families, no kid noise. Dorms are mixed and small, the bathrooms are shared but kept clean (the laundry and dryer are on-site too — CHF 5 per cycle).
