“We came to Olomouc for two nights as a Prague day trip and ended up staying four because we kept finding things to do in the garden of our hostel. Live music night Friday, BBQ Saturday, and the local sourdough breakfast every morning. The city itself is walkable in an afternoon, but the hostel garden is where the actual social life happens. If you skip the garden hostels and book somewhere indoors, you miss the city.”

Budget pension on Tr. Svobody, the southern edge of Olomouc's medieval centre. Simple private rooms with refrigerators and city views, plus a shared kitchen and 24-hour reception. The cheapest crash spot in walking distance of both squares and the main tram line.
Book May to September for actual garden weather. October still works some afternoons but evenings get cold fast.
Long Story Short does breakfast + garden seating until around 11am most days. It's a 5 EUR add-on and the single most-mentioned thing in reviews.
Ubytovna Marie's outdoor area is small and quiet (no music, no events), good for a private moment with a book and an Albert-supermarket beer.
Bezručovy sady (the city park) is 5 minutes from Long Story Short and 8 from Marie. Locals picnic there: bring tvarůžky cheese sandwiches from the Wednesday/Saturday market for the local move.
Live music in the Long Story Short courtyard runs roughly biweekly May to September. Ask reception which weekend has a band when you check in.
