SLO Hostel Nice is the new-build pod-dorm hostel on Rue d'Italie, 2 minutes from Gare Nice-Ville — the TER platform for Monaco, Menton, Cannes is literally at the door. Brand-new 2024 fit-out with curtain-privacy pods, proper beds, reading lights and sockets per bunk. This is the Japanese-capsule answer to the old grey French dorm, and it's the closest hostel to the airport tram.
SLO Hostel Nice lives on Rue d'Italie — the street that parallels the north side of Gare Nice-Ville, Nice's main train station. If you travel by TER (regional trains to Monaco, Menton, Èze, Cannes) the geography is ideal: you walk out the station's north exit, turn left, 90 seconds later you're at check-in. Tram T1 and T2 are both at the station.
The fit-out is 2024 new-build: pod-style dorms where every bed has a privacy curtain, an actual reading light, a USB socket, a personal locker behind the headboard, and a bedside shelf. Bathrooms are shared but plentiful and recently tiled. There's a ground-floor bar with a decent happy hour, a breakfast buffet available as an add-on, and a common room that's more 'café with laptops' than 'party lounge'.
This is the hostel for travellers who want modern comfort with practical geography: day-trippers using Nice as a base for the whole Riviera, digital nomads on a short stay who want fast Wi-Fi and a door-to-train walk, solo travellers who like a pod's privacy. It's not the social-dorm-bar experience of Villa Saint Exupery — SLO is quieter and cleaner.
