City Circus is the Athens hostel with the most personality in the building itself. The neoclassical architecture with original woodwork is genuinely impressive, and after more than a decade of operation, the place runs like clockwork. The breakfast is better than most hostel breakfasts (think proper Greek coffee, fresh bread, local honey) but it costs extra. The Sarri Street location is perfect if you want Psiri nightlife at your doorstep without paying Yellowsquare prices. Compared to Hub, it has fewer daily events but a more polished setting. Tip: ask for a room on the upper floor for terrace access and less street noise from the bars below.

City Circus Athens has been a fixture of the Athens hostel scene since 2012, housed in a restored neoclassical building on Sarri Street in the Psiri district. The hardwood floors, high ceilings, and carefully maintained original features give it a boutique hotel feel at hostel prices.
The rooftop terrace has city views and serves as the main social space. The ground floor houses a bar-restaurant that does breakfast (paid), happy hour drinks, and evening cocktails. The hostel runs bar crawls, movie nights, evening entertainment, and board game sessions. A shared kitchen is available for self-catering.
The Sarri Street location puts you on the main bar-crawl corridor of Psiri. You are a short walk from Monastiraki metro, Thissio, and the western approach to the Acropolis. The Ancient Agora is visible from the terrace.
Family rooms are available, making it one of the few Athens hostels that welcomes families with children. Airport shuttle can be arranged through the 24-hour front desk. Rooms have hardwood floors, air conditioning, and soundproofing.
