STAY's ground-floor bar opened at 18:00 and ran a happy hour until 20:00 — most evenings I'd be at a table with 4-6 other guests by 19:00, ending the night on the home-cinema couch around midnight. Rhodes Youth Hostel's sun terrace had no bar service but a constant rotation of 2-3 people watching the sunset with bottles from the AB supermarket — slower social pace, more private conversations, the occasional family from Italy or France. Both worked, very differently. STAY for the meet-people-fast option; Rhodes Youth Hostel for the genuine-conversation evening.”
