Ostello Torino occupies a 1980s mid-rise on Corso Giambone interno (a side street off Corso Unione Sovietica), in Lingotto south Turin. The building was probably built as a youth hostel from day one — wide corridors, concrete bones, an elevator big enough for luggage carts. The hostel runs as an institutional operation: linoleum floors, fluorescent lighting in common areas, daily housekeeping that includes the dorms (rare in the hostel world), and a continental breakfast served 7h to 9h.
There are 240 beds — the second-largest hostel in Turin after Open011. Room mix is unusual: family rooms (private bathroom, balcony, tiled floor, work desk, wardrobe — fits 4) are the headline, alongside the standard mixed and female dorms. Private rooms have AC, all dorms have fans. Linens included. There's an elevator, a garden, free parking out front, and bicycle parking.
Location puts you 5 km south of Centro Storico, in the same neighborhood as Eataly Lingotto's flagship store, the Lingotto mall (the rooftop with the Fiat test track is the famous photograph), the Pinacoteca Agnelli, and the OGR creative-industries hub. Lingotto Metro Line 1 is 2.1 mi north — that's a 9-minute metro ride to Porta Susa once you're on the platform. Caselle Airport bus stops at the metro. Tram 18 runs along Corso Unione Sovietica directly outside.
The neighborhood feels suburban — not as residential as Pozzo Strada (where Hostel Turin Metro Young is) but not Centro Storico either. There's a Carrefour, three trattorias, an Esselunga 800m east, and the OGR's bar/restaurant program if you want something more design-forward. Weekend events at OGR are walkable. The Saturday Mercato di Mirafiori is a 15-minute walk southwest if you want a non-tourist market.
