The showers run on a ratio of one to every four beds, which is rare in Riga. Everything uses private check-in with a smart-lock code sent 24 hours ahead, so late arrivals never wait at a desk.

The shared kitchen is the anchor: filtered water, unlimited coffee, ironing facilities, and a long wooden table that doubles as the breakfast spread (bread, jam, cereal — informal but free). There's no bar and no organized pub crawl, which is the point: Blue Bird is the Old Town alternative for travelers who found Naughty Squirrel or Cinnamon Sally too loud. Dome Square, St Peter's Church tower, and the Folkklubs Ala cellar bar are all within three minutes' walk.
