§ 01 — Summary

Flamingo Centrum is the best mid-price hostel in central Łódź — Sienkiewicza 67, 5 min walk to Piotrkowska, 4th-floor walk-up (no elevator) with a coffee machine in the shared kitchen and motivation tiles on every stairwell. 759 reviews at 9.0, couples score 9.6.

§ 02 — The full story

Flamingo Centrum sits at Sienkiewicza 67, a central residential street that runs north-south parallel to Piotrkowska. The hostel opened recently — Polish reviewer Elgregor specifically notes 'everything inside looks brand new and modern' — and reviewers across nationalities converge on the same headlines: brilliant central location (5 min walk to Piotrkowska, 10 min to Łódź Fabryczna train station), genuinely well-equipped shared kitchen with coffee machine, balcony rooms with city views, and a 4th-floor walk-up that everyone warns each other about.

The defining quirk is the staircase. There is no elevator. The hostel occupies the top floor of a 1900s kamienica, four flights up. Multiple reviewers warn about lugging suitcases. The owner has installed motivation tiles on every floor — Polish reviewer Magdalena: 'funny motivation tiles on the wall on every floor make us laugh.' This is the kind of detail a chain hostel cannot fake.

The building entrance is also briefly tricky — Nightingale's review specifically tells future guests 'watch the whole video that is provided about the hostel as it is easy to get mixed up with which building to enter.' Look for Sienkiewicza 67 with the Flamingo signage on the buzzer; the welcome message includes the door-code video.

Rooms are spacious, modern, with balconies on the building's south face — Milena and Elgregor both lead their reviews with the balcony. Bathrooms are shared (no en-suite at Flamingo) but the ratio is good — Jmx79: 'shared bathroom with only one other room.' One specific gripe from Elgregor: hand-wash taps run cold-only in some rooms; check this on arrival.

The shared kitchen is praised across reviews — fully equipped including the coffee machine (paid use, but reasonably priced according to Milena). Italian Giulio: 'kitchen ready with enough cookware, very good value for the price.' Self check-in via door code works smoothly. Pet-friendly is not advertised. The 9.6 couples score from Booking puts it in the top two of Łódź alongside Chill Inn.

The perfect stay for a few days. Everything was clean, organized, warm, and comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the self check-in system worked perfectly. One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. The only 'negative' point, which I was already aware of, is that the place is on the top floor without an elevator.

Great location, just few steps away from the main pedestrian street. Well-equipped kitchen — you can purchase good coffee at a good price from the coffee machine. Love the balcony in the room. Last floor with no elevator, but I can deal with it.

Cosy and very clean room. Great location near Piotrkowska street. Quite a lot of stairs to go up — but funny motivation tiles on the wall on every floor made us laugh. Coffee machine in the shared kitchen was a small joy.
