RYNEK 30 Hostel
The 'stayed on the Market Square' hostel — literally on the Rynek, breakfast included, small bar, balcony rooms
RYNEK 30 Hostel is the 'stayed on the Market Square' brag — literally at Rynek 30, front door opening onto the cobbles. 8.8 rating across 1,100 reviews, breakfast included in most rates, small bar in the lounge, shared kitchen, 24-hour security. Rooms are clean, compact, and the balcony rooms face the Rynek directly. Pick it for a short high-location stay; the premium over a Kazimierza Wielkiego hostel is about €12/night for a view you won't get anywhere else in Poland.
RYNEK 30 Hostel is one of a handful of hostels in Europe where the address is also the destination: Rynek 30, Wroclaw's Market Square, a 17th-century townhouse on the south side facing the Old Town Hall. The front door opens onto the cobbles. You walk out into the square.
The building is tall and narrow (five floors, no lift past the second), with mixed dorms, twin privates, and a handful of double rooms with small balconies over the square itself. Decor is simple: painted walls, wooden beams, pine bunks, clean linens. The corridors wind and the layout is genuinely old — expect creaky floors, original brickwork, and a staircase wider at the bottom than the top.
The hostel's bar area doubles as the breakfast room. Breakfast is included in most rates and it's better than it needs to be: fresh bread, cold cuts, scrambled eggs on weekends, real coffee, the works. In the evening the same space becomes a tiny lounge bar where guests hang out; staff run an informal pub-crawl most nights (the Rynek tours start from the square and the hostel is literally on the meeting point).
The shared kitchen is a small room with two hobs, a microwave, fridge, and the standard pots-pans-kettle set. It works if you're cooking simple — pasta, sandwiches, instant noodles — but if you want to cook seriously, MoHo XL or Mleczarnia have more workable kitchens. The premium here is location, not facilities, and guests consistently agree it's worth it for a short stay.

“Easily one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. The place feels super authentic and couldn't have a better location. The breakfast is to die for and the room is incredible for the price. The balcony over the Rynek was the highlight.”
“Location is unreal — you literally wake up on the Market Square. The pub crawl the first night got me friends for the rest of the weekend. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, free eggs on Saturday was generous.”
“Very central, staff speaks good English and the breakfast included is excellent. Bed was comfortable, the bar downstairs is a cool evening spot. Only issue was some noise from the square until late — but that is the Rynek.”
