“For a surf week where you cook most nights, I would book Supertubos Beach Hostel: three kitchens for eleven rooms, barbecues outside and the sea across the road. I would choose FreeSurfCamp instead if you travel by car or with a family, for the saltwater pool, the on-site parking and the fridge in the room. Neither is made for the solo traveller who wants a dorm bed and a crowd at the communal table: both rent rooms, and Supertubos asks for three nights minimum. If meeting people matters more than cooking, The Salty Surf & Yoga, the third Peniche hostel we list, runs a bar and social events, though I could not confirm a guest kitchen there.”
