Alen & Leila Backpackers Hostel
Alen and Leila's hostel on the Braće Fejića pedestrian spine — the easiest first-night arrival in Mostar, four minutes from Stari Most along the bazaar.
Hostel Backpackers is a 9.2/10 family-run hostel on Braće Fejića, the pedestrian spine of Mostar's Stari Grad. Owners Alen and Leila run the front desk, the breakfast and the rooftop, four minutes east of Stari Most along the bazaar route. The cheapest 9+/10 hostel in Mostar at 15 EUR a dorm bed.
Hostel Backpackers sits at Braće Fejića 67 — the long pedestrian street that bisects Stari Grad east-west. The location matters because Braće Fejića is where you naturally walk from the bus station to Stari Most, so the hostel is on your route in either direction. Four minutes to the Old Bridge, two to Karadjozbeg Mosque, six to Tima-Irma. The street is car-free which means the front rooms are quieter than at Hostel Hercegovina on Trg 1 Maj.
The building is a converted Bosnian merchant house with seven rooms — three mixed dorms (4, 6 and 8-bed), three private doubles and one private triple. The 8-bed dorm is the cheapest 9+/10 bed in Mostar at 15 EUR. Air-conditioning is in every room and the rooms over the back courtyard are noticeably cooler in summer than the street-side ones. Bathrooms are shared per floor; lockers are in every dorm and reception sells padlocks for 2 EUR.
Owners Alen and Leila run a tight, slightly-shy social operation — no formal rakija round, but the rooftop is open to all guests and there's always a half-bottle of plum rakija on the bar (2 EUR a shot, honesty box). Alen runs the day tour to Herzegovina himself: 30 EUR, six-person van, the Blagaj-Kravice-Pocitelj loop, packed lunch included. Reviews single him out for being honest about which sights to skip if it's pouring (Pocitelj is largely outdoor and miserable in rain).
Who this is for: backpackers wanting the cheapest 9+/10 dorm in Mostar with the most central pedestrian-street location. Who it's not for: anyone who wants a deep social scene — the rooftop is small, the social anchor is more day-tour than evening drink-up.

“My stay at the hostel was very nice, Alen is super happy and friendly hostel owner, would highly recommend. The day tour with him driving was the best 30 EUR I spent in the Balkans, and the swim at Kravice was unbeatable.”
“Incredible staff. Alen made us feel at home and received us soooo well. Leila too, with the breakfast in the courtyard. The 8-bed dorm was clean, AC perfect, and the lockers worked for my daypack.”
“Best location for the price in Mostar, four minutes to the bridge on a pedestrian street. Alen advised us to skip Pocitelj because of rain and add more time at Blagaj which was the right call. Honesty-box rakija was a sweet touch.”
