Tip Nº 01
If you're at Roberta's Society, the karaoke night runs every other Thursday — check the activities sheet at reception on day one and plan around it. The themed dinner on Wednesday is the second key night.
Tip Nº 02
From any of the three hostels, the genuinely best night-out start is Klostertorvet square at 21:00 — Sherlock Holmes Pub is the easiest icebreaker on a slow night. The walk over from Roberta's is 3 minutes, from Danhostel Aarhus City 1 minute (across the canal), and from Aarhus Hostel og Hotel 18 minutes by bus 4A.
Tip Nº 03
At Aarhus Hostel og Hotel, the BBQ is best used 19:00-22:00 in summer. Charcoal is 50 DKK at reception, meat and beer from Føtex 5 minutes up the road. Locals do this; it's not a tourist scene.
Tip Nº 04
At Danhostel Aarhus in Risskov, the bay-view sun deck is the social magnet on long summer evenings. The trick is to buy fish at the harbour fish market on Saturday morning (Fiskerikajen, opens 09:00, closes 12:30) and grill it that night. You'll have a table of locals join you within an hour.
Tip Nº 05
If you want a night out at Train club, the night bus N1 runs Friday and Saturday only. Otherwise it's a 150-DKK cab back to any of the three hostels. Don't try to walk back from Train at 03:00 to Aarhus Hostel og Hotel — it's 90 minutes through deserted residential streets.
