“Thursday night at Ostello Bello's ground-floor lounge had a guitar-vocal duo from Modena playing De André and Cremonini covers plus two originals. 35 people in the room, dead quiet during sets, loud applause between songs, free pours of Lambrusco from the bar staff who clearly knew the duo. Friday I did Combo's rooftop DJ set — completely different energy, 140 people, Bolognese 20-somethings mostly, skyline behind the DJ booth, set ran house mostly but tilted disco after midnight. Both were Bologna, same weekend, same neighbourhood, completely different music moods. The total for both nights was €8 in drinks at Ostello Bello and €15 at Combo (including the €5 guest spritz happy hour).”
