“I stayed 5 nights split between two hostels — 2 at Ostello Bello and 3 at Dopa — specifically to test both social models. Ostello Bello's aperitivo buffet got me from "solo check-in" to "shared rooftop table with 4 strangers" within 90 minutes on night one. I met a couple from Berlin who were doing the same split stay, and we ended up on Dopa's Thursday communal dinner together. The pasta workshop on Sunday had me rolling tagliatelle next to a 60-year-old from Osaka who came to Bologna specifically for the workshop. Two social mechanics, one trip, and completely different friendships — the volume at Combo I did on a Friday night drop-in for the DJ set, which was its own thing.”
