Protezione della Giovane occupies a 19th-century convent-style building on Via Pigna, a quiet side street in Citta Antica two minutes south of Sant'Anastasia. The building has been continuously run as women's safe accommodation by the Protezione della Giovane society since the 1800s — originally as protection for young women travelling alone for work, now as a hostel. The charity legacy shows: the staff aren't bored receptionists, they're invested in your stay.

Rooms range from 8-bed female-only dorms to private singles and doubles, all female-only across the building (no mixed dorms anywhere). Most have private bathrooms; a few share facilities on the floor. Bunks are simple and solid, with linen included, big lockers, and a socket near every bed. Air conditioning is in every room — not optional in a Verona summer.

Downstairs there's a garden courtyard for breakfast and evening reading, a shared lounge with a TV, vending machines for late-night snacks, and a small communal kitchen with a fridge and tea/coffee station (no stove — this isn't a cook-your-own-pasta hostel). Reception speaks English, Spanish, French and Italian. Bicycle parking included if you brought one.
