§ 01 — Summary

Boutique-feel guest accommodation on Frognerveien, with garden views, a shared kitchen, terrace, and a calm atmosphere a 10-minute walk from Vigeland sculpture park. Compact, cozy, and right in posh Frogner.

§ 02 — The full story

Oslo Living is the small, almost guesthouse-style hostel that Frogner needed. It sits on Frognerveien, the leafy main street that runs from the centre out toward Vigelandsparken — Oslo's free open-air sculpture park, packed with 200-plus Vigeland nudes that every visitor ends up at sooner or later. From the front door it's a 10-minute walk past embassies and ice-cream queues to the park gates.

The building is a converted apartment block with parquet floors, sound-proofed rooms, and a small shared kitchen with everything you need to make breakfast and dinner. There's a terrace and shared garden out back, plus a work desk in most rooms. The vibe is more boutique-quiet than backpacker-loud — solo travelers and couples use it more than gap-year groups.

What sets the location apart: bars, ice-cream parlours, and proper bakeries are 30 seconds out the door, but the inside is genuinely silent. The 19 tram stops at Solli plass two blocks away will get you to Aker Brygge waterfront in 5 minutes, where the free fjord ferries to Hovedøya and Gressholmen islands depart (covered by your Ruter ticket — Oslo's best hack). Vigelandsparken in one direction, fjord in the other, and the whole thing under €60 a night.

§ 03 — Why we love it
  • 01Frogner location is the trade — quiet, leafy, embassies, but with bars and bakeries 30 seconds out the door.
  • 02Properly sound-proofed rooms are rare in Oslo hostels — light sleepers love this place.
  • 03Vigelandsparken (Frogner Park) is a 10-minute walk — Oslo's biggest free attraction, packed with Vigeland sculptures.
  • 04Aker Brygge fjord ferries leave 5 minutes by tram from the door, covered by your Ruter ticket.
  • 05Small enough that the staff actually remember your name by day two — the Booking reviews keep mentioning Agneta.

The environment, the security and the cleanliness was perfect. My room was cozy and spacious. Frogner was a great surprise — I had no idea Oslo had such a leafy posh side.

Very comfortable, great staff (Agneta) was helpful. Excellent location with bars and cafés on the street, but quiet inside.

Location was really good, very quiet inside but on a lively road with plenty of bars and restaurants. Walk to Vigelandsparken is genuinely 10 minutes.
