The Boat - Hostel&Chill
Sleep on a riverboat with Wawel Castle across the water
A permanently moored riverboat hostel on the Vistula, with cabin-style rooms, a top-deck terrace bar, and a view of Wawel Castle across the water. Fifteen minutes walk from Rynek Główny along the riverside path.
The Boat - Hostel&Chill is exactly what the name advertises: a permanently moored flat-bottomed riverboat on the Vistula's Debniki bank, converted into a working hostel with 22 cabin-style beds across a mix of dorms and private twins. The top deck is a terrace bar with deck chairs, a fire pit, and a direct sightline across the water to Wawel Castle's south wall — at sunset it's one of the best free views in Krakow.
The cabins are genuinely tight (marine bunks, portholes instead of windows) but clean, well-insulated, and heated. Showers and toilets are shared, in proper marine fittings. Breakfast is a simple continental spread served on the mid-deck dining area from 8-10. The riverside path connects straight to the Old Town: 15 minutes' walk north to Rynek Główny past the bottom of Wawel, or 20 minutes east to Kazimierz via the footbridge.
The vibe is quiet. There's no bar crawl, no DJ, no included pub crawl. Evenings are top-deck beer-with-a-view, board games, and conversation. If you want party, stay elsewhere and come visit for sunset drinks. If you want the most interesting bed in Krakow, this is it.

“Unique place to stay. Wawel Castle view from the top deck at sunset was unreal, and the gentle rocking at night actually helped me sleep. Breakfast simple but enough.”
“Stayed three nights in a private twin. Cabins are small but well thought out, showers decent, and the fire pit on top deck was a highlight. Quiet and special.”
“Something different, which is what I wanted after two nights in a standard Old Town bunk. 15 min walk along the river to the Main Square is actually a nice orientation walk.”
