Best Hostels with a Bar in Wroclaw

Wroclaw is a bar town — Pasaż Niepolda, Pasaż Pokoyhof, ul. Włodkowica, and the island beer spots on Słodowa — but the hostel-bar scene is smaller than you'd expect. Three properties actually have a bar or bar-space on-site: RYNEK 30 runs a small lounge bar that doubles as the breakfast room, Hostel Mleczarnia shares a building with the legendary Mleczarnia Café (which has a full bar and live music), and GIRLSTEL's rooftop terrace effectively functions as a bar with BYOB and string lights. Elsewhere you'll walk a few minutes for a drink — which, given Wroclaw's density of decent bars, is barely a penalty.

§ 01 — Traveler's take
At RYNEK 30 in November I had two beers in the lounge bar while reception organised a six-person pub crawl that left at 21:00 sharp — we hit PRL, Setka, Kalambur, and a late stop at Machina Organika for vegan pierogi and more beer. Total evening cost: 60 zł (£12) including food. The hostel bar was the logistics hub. At GIRLSTEL on the terrace, another guest brought a bottle of Polish mead from the Rynek Christmas market and we drank it under fairy lights — that's the honest hostel-bar scene in Wroclaw. At Mleczarnia the Friday acoustic concert was 11 songs, three languages, and free if you bought a beer (12 zł).

GIRLSTEL Wrocław - Girls ONLY Space

GIRLSTEL is Wroclaw's only women-only hostel: a small, apartment-scale space on the 4th floor of a townhouse on ul. Ofiar Oświęcimskich, 3 min walk from the Rynek. Balconies with Old Town views, shared kitchen, terrace, 24-hour security, key-code entry. Rated 9.4 across 39 reviews, almost exclusively from solo female travellers who want a safe, calm base steps from Pasaż Niepolda. No lift — you walk the four floors.

  • Women-only, the only one in Wroclaw
  • Rooftop terrace with Old Town views
  • Fully-equipped shared kitchen + spice rack
  • Air-conditioning in every room
Hostel Mleczarnia

8.91,230 reviews24/night

Hostel Mleczarnia

Hostel Mleczarnia is the heritage pick of Wroclaw: an atmospheric townhouse on ul. Włodkowica, the one street of the historic Jewish quarter, attached to the legendary Mleczarnia Café (vintage oil paintings, acoustic concerts, Wroclaw's best cheesecake). Rooms are old-fashioned in a genuine way — mismatched antique furniture, chandeliers, creaky floors, zero minimalism. Rated 8.9 across 1,230 reviews over 15+ years. Shared kitchen, breakfast served in the café, Pod Białym Bocianem synagogue 30 seconds away.

  • Attached to the famous Mleczarnia Café
  • Pre-war antique rooms with real character
  • On ul. Włodkowica (Jewish quarter / nightlife)
  • Friday acoustic concerts in the café, free to guests
RYNEK 30 Hostel

8.81,100 reviews28/night

RYNEK 30 Hostel

RYNEK 30 Hostel is the 'stayed on the Market Square' brag — literally at Rynek 30, front door opening onto the cobbles. 8.8 rating across 1,100 reviews, breakfast included in most rates, small bar in the lounge, shared kitchen, 24-hour security. Rooms are clean, compact, and the balcony rooms face the Rynek directly. Pick it for a short high-location stay; the premium over a Kazimierza Wielkiego hostel is about €12/night for a view you won't get anywhere else in Poland.

  • Front door opens onto the Market Square
  • Breakfast included in most rates
  • Balcony rooms with Rynek views
  • Nightly free pub crawl from the hostel
§ 03 — Tips

Tips for Choosing a Hostel with Bar in Wroclaw

Tip Nº 01

RYNEK 30's bar is open 17:00-23:00, later on weekends. The pub crawl leaves at 21:00 sharp most nights — get there by 20:30 if you want to join, it's not organized enough to run late.

Tip Nº 02

GIRLSTEL is BYOB on the terrace. Żabka 30 seconds from the door has beer from 4 zł, wine from 18 zł, and a decent Polish mead (pitny miód) from 25 zł for the 0.5L bottle. Bring cups from the shared kitchen.

Tip Nº 03

Mleczarnia Café's Friday acoustic concert starts at 20:00 and runs until 22:30. No tickets — arrive by 19:30 for a seat, order a cheesecake and a beer, and settle in. The chalkboard by the door has the week's line-up.

Tip Nº 04

Regardless of where you stay, the free self-guided pub crawl is PRL → Setka → Pod Papugami → Kuznicza 29a → Kalambur. All within 4 min walk of each other, all with 10-12 zł beers before midnight. The 'tour company' version charges €12-15 per person — you're paying for a guide you don't need.
