§ 01 — Summary

Six-room pension on a quiet street in the city center, a 10-minute walk from Plaza del Pilar and 5 minutes from El Tubo's tapas alleys. Private rooms with en-suite bathrooms at the price most cities charge for a dorm bed.

§ 02 — The full story

Pension Miraflores is a six-room operation on the first floor of a residential building on Calle María Lostal, between the Centro shopping street and the old town. The building has no reception, no bar, no breakfast service. What it has is a keypad door, six clean rooms with private bathrooms, and a location that puts you 10 minutes from Plaza del Pilar and five minutes from El Tubo's tapas crawl.

The rooms are small but well-finished: tiled floors, soundproof from the street, AC for the 38C July heat, heating for the cierzo-cold January nights. The inner-courtyard rooms are noticeably quieter than the street-side ones if you're a light sleeper. Each room has a desk, a TV, and a private en-suite with a shower (no tubs).

Check-in is a self-service keypad. The owner sends you the code by WhatsApp the day before. Arrive any time, no reception hours to worry about. Several reviewers note the keypad is on the inner door (not the street door), which has tripped up first-time guests, ask for the photo when you book.

This is the right pick if you want a private room at hostel prices and you don't need anything to happen at your accommodation. You'll be eating tapas in El Tubo every night anyway. Pension Miraflores is the room you sleep in between.

§ 03 — Why we love it

  • 04The inner-courtyard rooms are silent, even at 02:00 on a Saturday.
  • 05The owner answers WhatsApp in English within minutes.
§ 05 — Features

Easy check in (if you find the invisible keypad on the door), quiet neighbourhood. Bars, restaurants, bus around the corner. Owner replied to WhatsApp messages within minutes. Good value for money.

The property was secure and comfortable, the room was a good size as was the bathroom, the room was cleaned each day and the location is great for walking into the centre and El Tubo. A good budget choice in Zaragoza.

Close to the center. The place is small but they are honest with the images. Private bathroom and cleaning every day, so for a quick city trip this is exactly what you want.
