Pick it for the Old Town address behind Raekoja plats, the €20 dorm that's actually quiet, and the private rooms with ensuites at €60. Skip it if you want a built-in social scene — the building itself is too quiet, too classical, and too narrow to create crowds. Tip: the basement games room is where the social life happens; bring a deck of cards on night one and the crowd builds by night two.

The address is Munga 4, a classical building tucked inside the medieval wall behind the Town Hall — you walk through arched passages to reach it. The layout is a narrow townhouse with a games room in the basement, a small kitchen, dorms running two and three floors up, and an assortment of private rooms, some with ensuite bathrooms.
Dorms are quieter than Fat Margaret's by a noticeable margin — the building has thicker walls and no bar below. Beds get called out repeatedly in reviews as properly comfortable rather than bare-bones. Lockers are free, inside every dorm, and big enough for a 65L backpack. The games room downstairs has a pool table, darts, board games, and a small bar fridge with €2 beers on honesty basis.
No in-house crawl or organized social scene. For that, guests walk seven minutes to Monks Bunk and join their crawl, then come back to Munkenhof for quiet sleep. The €20 price point undercuts most Old Town privates by a lot, and the Munga 4 location gets a 9.7 couples-location score on Booking, which is nearly unheard of for a hostel at this price band.
