Jaeger's Munich lives on Senefelderstr. 3, one building east of Wombat's Hauptbahnhof. Family-run since the 1990s, it has always been more hotel than hostel on the spectrum — reception desk, lobby bar with an actual wine list, parking garage, and a traveler demographic that skews older than the 22-year-old backpacker standard. 90 seconds from the Hauptbahnhof north exit, same as its neighbor, which means a 10-minute walk to Marienplatz and immediate access to every S-Bahn and ICE train.

AC in every room is the genuine differentiator. Munich hits the low 30s °C in July and August and many hostels in this price range still rely on open-window cooling. Jaeger's air-conditions from April to October and the difference is real. Rooms are smaller than the Wombat's sister but every one has AC, and you actually sleep. Private rooms trend cheaper than Wombat's equivalents because the crowd isn't chasing the social bar.

The bar is a quieter lounge than a full party floor. Happy hour runs 5-8pm, the wine list has Bavarian and Austrian bottles under €22, and the coffee house operates in the mornings. Not the pick for a pub crawl — you'll want to walk over to Wombat's for that. Best fit: couples, solo travelers over 30, and one-night flight layover crowds who want a real bed near Hauptbahnhof without a Wombat's basement bar below them.
