§ 01 — Summary

Purpose-built hostel 5 minutes from Temple Bar with pod-style beds, on-site bar, and regular social events. One of Dublin's most-reviewed hostels with 11,000+ ratings.

§ 02 — The full story

Jacobs Inn is a purpose-built hostel on Talbot Place, a 5-minute walk north of the Liffey from Temple Bar. With over 11,000 reviews and an 8.4 rating, it's one of the most battle-tested hostels in Ireland. The building is modern and clean, designed specifically for hostel life rather than converted from something else.

The pod-style beds are the standout feature. Each sleeping space has a privacy curtain, reading light, and power outlet, so you get a semi-private feel even in a shared dorm. The showers have complimentary gel and shampoo, which is a small thing that makes a big difference after a long travel day.

The bar downstairs is where the social magic happens. Staff organize bar crawls through Temple Bar, evening entertainment, and the lounge area is a natural gathering spot. Breakfast is available (not free) and worth it if you want to fuel up before a walking tour.

Location-wise, you're in Dublin 1 on the north side of the Liffey. Connolly Station is a 3-minute walk for DART trains to Howth. O'Connell Street is 5 minutes on foot. The Talbot Street area isn't the prettiest, but it's functional and well-connected.

§ 03 — Why we love it
