The building is a converted townhouse with five floors of dorms and two private rooms. Beds are fixed wooden-frame bunks with reading lights, curtains, and in-bed power sockets. Lockers are inside the rooms (bring your own padlock, or buy one for €4 at reception). Bathrooms are on each floor — not in the room — which keeps prices modest but means a 2 AM corridor trip in flip-flops.
The kitchen is the hostel's beating heart. Guests cook dinners together most nights, reception hands out a printed recipe of the Dutch stamppot if you're curious, and the pot of coffee is free all day. The common room beside it has a piano nobody plays, a wall of board games, and couches that always have one or two people on them.
The host team plans a weekly calendar: free walking tour Saturdays, film night Mondays, group dinner Wednesdays, and a pub-crawl pass for Witte de Withstraat on Fridays.
