Heaven Inn Suites & Terrace

Heaven Inn occupies a converted townhouse on Rua Romão Ramalho, a five-minute walk from the bus station and two minutes from Praça do Giraldo through the historic walls. Évora's centre is small enough that everything inside the walls is reachable on foot in under fifteen minutes — the Sé cathedral, the Capela dos Ossos, the Roman temple, the university courtyards — but Rua Romão Ramalho is set back from the foot-traffic spine of Rua 5 de Outubro, so you sleep without bar noise from outside.

The property is adults-only and runs about 30 beds across mixed and female-only dorms (4-bed and 12-bed configurations) plus a handful of private suites. Every dorm has its own private bathroom inside the room — not down the hall — which is the unusual configuration that pushes the 9.0 rating. AC, work desks, individual reading lights at every bunk, and lockers below the bed are standard across all rooms.

The rooftop terrace is what people remember. It's small (seats maybe twelve) but it's the only hostel rooftop in Évora that sees the Sé cathedral towers, and at sunset it fills up with guests and a guitar. Coffee and a Portuguese breakfast (€6, included on most rates) is served on the rooftop weather permitting; otherwise on the ground-floor patio. There's a small bar that runs an honesty system after the staff go home at 22:00.

Downstairs: shared lounge with city guides, a tiny kitchenette for tea/coffee (no full kitchen — Évora is a restaurant town, not a self-cater town), tour desk that books wine country tours and the Anta do Zambujeiro dolmen run, and a 24h front desk. The one trade-off: adults-only means no families, and the 12-bed dorm fills up on weekends from June to September.
