§ 01 — Summary

El Diablo is the homey-party hostel on Strahinjića bana — small enough to feel like an apartment, social enough that reviewers use the phrase 'second home' without irony. 9.5 rating, 145 reviews, and a pub crawl that leaves from reception at 22:00.

§ 02 — The full story

El Diablo is a small party hostel (under 30 beds) on Strahinjića bana — the pedestrian strip in Dorćol that locals half-jokingly call 'Silicon Valley' for the bar-terrace density and the cosmetic-surgery aesthetic of its regulars. Which sounds like a warning, but means: you're in the middle of Belgrade's most concentrated bar-crawl real estate, two minutes from Tri šešira (Skadarlija's legendary kafana) and five from Republic Square.

The hostel itself is the opposite of its neighborhood's polish — a warm, lived-in apartment building converted into bunks, a rakija-stocked lounge, and a terrace that functions as the pre-splav pre-game. Reviewers keep using words like 'second home' and 'warm vibe', which in hostel review translation means: small staff, they remember your name, they'll actually come drinking with you.

The nightly pub crawl is the selling point — it leaves reception around 22:00, hits 3–4 bars on Strahinjića bana and Skadarska, and in May–September ends at a splav on the Sava. Cost: about €10 including three shots and a splav entry. This is significantly cheaper than the standalone Belgrade bar crawls that charge €25.

Pros: actual party-hostel vibe without the 100-bed warehouse feel, nightly pub crawl, perfect Dorćol location, genuinely social. Cons: not the place if you need sleep — dorms share thin walls with the terrace, and the crawl gets loud coming back at 4am. Earplugs in the welcome kit for a reason.
