Linnéplatsens Hotell och Vandrarhem

Linnéplatsens Hotell & Vandrarhem sits on the square it's named for — Linnéplatsen, the quieter southern bookend of Linné neighborhood, about 700 metres down Linnégatan from Järntorget. Tram 11, which runs directly to Saltholmen for the free archipelago ferries, terminates on the square, so this is the one Gothenburg hostel where you can step outside and be on Styrsö or Brännö within an hour without a transfer.

The building houses both a small hotel and a larger hostel; the difference is mainly room quality — hostel dorms and privates are no-frills clean, hotel rooms are carpeted and ensuite. Dorms have the detail that matters: privacy curtains on every bunk, individual reading lights, plug sockets per bed, linen included. Bathrooms are shared by floor and reviewers flag them as consistently spotless (cleaning happens multiple times per day). The shared kitchen is the biggest of any Linné hostel — three hob stations, double fridge, dining area that doubles as the social room.

Breakfast is available for purchase at around 95 SEK. Self-check-in works via a code sent the day before. Reception staffing is 08:00–22:00; after that it's key-card entry. The square location means street noise is moderate — Linnéplatsen is a tram terminus, not a bar square, so weekends are calmer here than up at Järntorget.
