§ 01 — Summary

HostelChe sits directly above Kafana Sal on Kralja Petra — the single most-walked pedestrian diagonal in the Old Town. 9.0 from 557 reviews, a proper rooftop, nightly walking tour or pub crawl depending on the day, and one of the better value-to-location ratios in Belgrade at €19.

§ 02 — The full story

HostelChe is the efficient-party Belgrade hostel — big enough to have a proper pub crawl and a real rooftop, small enough that reception remembers your name by night two. The address is Kralja Petra 8/7 — above Kafana Sal, which is the pedestrian diagonal between Republic Square and Kalemegdan that every walking tour in Belgrade uses as its spine. Three minutes from Knez Mihailova, three from the Cathedral, five from Kalemegdan.

About 60 beds across 6–10 bed dorms, private doubles, and a handful of triples. The kitchen is functional (not a showpiece — Balkan Soul is the cook-here hostel), the rooftop is real with city-view seating, and the in-house pub crawl leaves Mon/Wed/Fri at 21:30 for €10 — one of the more reliably-running crawls in the city. Sunday and Thursday there's a free walking tour from the lobby (the hostel version, not the Stari Grad tourist one) covering the Skadarlija bohemian quarter and the Kalemegdan fortress — legitimately informative for first-time Belgrade travelers.

The downside: being above Kafana Sal means pedestrian noise until midnight and pub crawl noise coming back at 2am. The upper-floor dorms are fine, the lower ones catch the street. The flip side is that Kafana Sal itself is one of Belgrade's best rakija bars — 120+ varieties, €1.50 a shot, and the hostel gets a guest discount.

A really good option in Belgrade — felt super clean, the beds are really good, cozy common room, and the Kralja Petra address is right in the action.
