If your hostel has no garden in Pula, you'll feel cooped up by day three.”

Art & Joy's front garden gets shade until 11:00 (best for morning coffee) and afternoon sun from 16:00 to 19:00 (best for reading). Mid-day is too hot in July.
Monte Zaro's rooftop terrace is the smallest and most private. If you're a couple and want sunset to yourselves, head up around 19:30 in summer with a Konzum bottle. Locals don't go up there.
